I love the sun...

This pic is a Photoshop effort, with
the base a picture of a piece of jewelry
on display at the Griffith Observatory.


I spent a few hours there today, and it
was so beautiful. The "flaky" part of me
(the part of me that likes Astrology, and
the planets, and things of that sort - and
so named by my brother) loves things
like what the observatory had to offer.

I was looking for a park like place to spend
the day and @nsane8 took me there, and it
was perfect.

I took a bunch of pictures, and we'll see
which ones might be shareable for anyone
interested. From the observatory grounds,
you can get a great view, too, of the
famous Hollywood sign.


When thinking about planets, I think about
astrology, and what it might have to offer.

There are two awesome books that come to
mind on this subject, and if you have a
moment, perhaps check them out for yourself,
and see whether or not they "fit" you and
your interests. For me they both have
helped to validate who I am, and how I am,
and who doesn't appreciate some validation
every now and again?

I don't know about you, but it's not often
I re-read a book, and even when I do, I
don't often appreciate it as much the
second time around. The second of the two
books is one I read several years ago, and
am again reading it with incredible interest
and passion. It "speaks" to me differently
now that I have had a few more years of
life experience and perspective.

The first book is a resource book that I
have pulled out several times for myself
and others, especially in relation to how
we are affected by Lunar and Solar Eclipse
energy prior to our birth. The Lunar
Eclipse speaks to the lessons we are here
to learn, and the Solar Eclipse speaks to
the gifts we have been given.

To anyone I have ever shared these pages
with, it has been a "bulls-eye." Amazing
how something that speaks to us can provide
perspective that can be empowering...even
when (and especially if) it's something
we already recognize about ourself.

One day I should video tape some of what I do, incase
you ever want to see the contortions (a/k/a creative process).

Perspective Art: Comfort zones and Creativity

You never know what you're gonna find.

I am self taught on Photoshop Elements,
and have some comfort zones, but
occasionally I stumble into something
new that I can do, and am amazed.

Today's picture is one such example.
How it looks it couldn't have looked,
unless I had stumbled into something
I wasn't familiar with previously.

I am thinking that that could work for
anything. Do anything long enough,
and you might just find something you
didn't know about because you were
always doing what you knew.

But then, one day you stumble and
what seems like a mistake gives you
a whole new perspective. Have you
ever considered that stumbling
might be nature's way of showing
us something we've never noticed
before? Hmmmm....

Here's to today's stumbles!

As you may have heard, there was a total
solar eclipse today.

The above image started out with me
looking to mimic the full eclipse.

As you can see, it doesn't quite look that
way, LOL.

This image was totally computer generated
by Photoshop Elements - well, except for
my obvious input, that is.

When I look at the above image, I think about
what some people say about how we're all connected.
Each piece is a slightly different shape, size,
color and yet - all a part of the whole.

I found out this morning that Eric De La Cruz
passed away on July 4th. No death is more
poignant than the ones that come closest to
home. My thoughts are with those who loved
Eric the longest, and knew him the best.

In addition, there were many people who also
came to know Eric through his sister's untiring
efforts, and I know that this must be a very
sad day for them as well.

In tribute to Eric, @theexpert on Twitter sent
this message out regarding our health care
system, and suggested that we consider what
could be done so that change can be effected.

It has been said that our mind is unable to
resist answering a question. It makes me
wonder what a good question to ask here is.
It makes me wonder what question will get us
the answer(s) we seem to need.
